In an interview with Jeff Kassouf, he stated that more information will be provided by the end of the year, and that the expected start date for WISL is 2023, a year out from the original 2022 that Carrie gave Protagonist Soccer earlier this year. But to add, we know now that Ron Patel, managing director of NISA Nation, is also the managing director of WISL. Much of the information anyone has on WISL (of which there isn’t a lot) has already been said, due to the original partnership NISA had with WISL. The target date of their inaugural season is TBD. Although the partnership lasted all of three weeks, and Carrie left her position a month later, both clubs stated that they would “remain allies in pursuing equity in the women’s game.” UWS shared with Protagonist Soccer at the end of their season in July that they would be continuing on with their mission to receive USSF-sanctioning of a professional league and recently, we’ve learned that they’re aiming for division 3. The league was expected to start play in 2022. In April 2021, in partnership with NISA, UWS announced that they would be seeking USSF sanctioning for a true division 2 women’s league, the first of its kind in the US, with Carrie Taylor at the helm. In 2020, they announced they would be fielding UWS League Two, a reserves league that today operates with 49 clubs and 6 conferences. They also were the only amateur women’s soccer league to hold a full playoff and championship. Formed by a combination of W-League and exWPSL teams who had their own vision for how a league should be run, they have grown quickly to 45 clubs in 6 conferences all across the country, with a new West conference made up of two Southern California teams, a team in Utah, and interestingly, two Canadian teams. In 2015, the USL’s first go at a women’s league, the W-League, folded for no known reason and in the vacuum, UWS emerged. The WPSL has been in the game of WoSo longer than any other league in the US and if they aspire for division 2 professional soccer, they have the most foundation and expertise in achieving it. However, after the NWSL was established in 2013, teams such as the Boston Breakers, Chicago Red Stars, and Western New York Flash, to name a few, left and the WPSLE folded. In 2012, after the WPS folded, the WPSL founded the WPSL Elite for teams-that were searching for a more competitive schedule. Sources tell Protagonist Soccer that the WPSL is considering all options for a professional league of their own, but what that professional league could look like-and if they may partner with another org to achieve that end-remains to be seen. Most U-21 teams are operated by existing WPSL teams, with 16-20 additional teams expected to join in 2022 and acts as an academy/development/reserves league for most organizations. WPSL U-21 began operating in 2021 in all 4 regions, with teams in 6 conferences. It operates in 4 regions with 17 conferences and 13 divisions. The WPSL’s main tier is made up of 135 active teams, give or take, with more expected before 2022. Teams: 135 active teams, give or take, with expansion teams planned for 2022 To assist readers in understanding what leagues currently are operating, and what leagues are soon to join, we thought we’d devise a cheat sheet, which we’ll update as new information emerges in the future. Currently, we only cover the UWS and WPSL and their various subsidiaries, but with the women’s soccer landscape growing as early as next season, so too will our coverage here at Protagonist Soccer as we move to expand coverage. With recent news that Protagonist Soccer would be expanding coverage to the USL2 in 2022, we thought it would also be pertinent to reconsider what women’s leagues to cover going forward as well. For while exploring opportunities and challenges by yourself is exhilarating, finding that special person to journey with makes the adventure all the richer. We've chosen a beautiful poem by American poet Walt Whitman, Song of the Open Road, an ode to embarking on life's journey together, to not limiting yourself, to carving your own path, together. Through his poem, the poet tells how he himself walks on this open road. If you see life as an adventure to be lived to the full, then today's selection for a wedding ceremony reading will be perfect for you. This poem talks about the road of life on which each person undertakes a long journey. Users of older versions had to access a separate, albeit bundled, program - PlotMaker - to generate printed output, an inconvenience long since solved by integrating PlotMaker's functions directly into ArchiCAD itself. The ArchiCAD of yore lacked true reference-file capability, an oversight long since fixed by its HotLink capability, something that has been even further enhanced in ArchiCAD 12. For example, early versions of ArchiCAD lacked sophisticated means of sharing the work among project team members, a problem long since solved by ArchiCAD's TeamWork function - still, in my opinion, among the market's most robust and flexible solutions for project workload sharing. The product has improved consistently ever since.Īlthough ArchiCAD was a top contender for many U.S.-based architects in the mid-1990s, the product had a few limitations back then - limitations that for some prospective purchasers tipped the scales in favor of one or another competing product and kept ArchiCAD from becoming more dominant. ArchiCAD was far ahead of its competition at the time - almost anyone who wanted a PC- or Mac-based modeling, drafting, and visualization solution specific to architecture would have otherwise had to buy and integrate two, three, or more programs to accomplish all that ArchiCAD could provide by itself. Back in the mid-1990s, it was one of the first software products I reviewed, and that first review was a revelation. Graphisoft's ArchiCAD, which has been around for 25 years, falls into that category for me. Like fine wine and close friendships, some things just get better with age. Therefore it is important to select the right seat cushion that is specially built for bus drivers. Driving for several hours can take a toll on your posture and your health. There are many seat cushions available out there, but only several can be suitable for bus drivers. I also added one cob of fresh corn kernels for some added texture and interest. The bread turned out quite well, but I had to remove it from the oven after only 20 minutes,as it was already quite brown on the bottom and along the edges. My guests loved it! I served it alongside grilled salmon & a lettuce salad. In the past, I've only made Jiffy boxed cornbread which always comes out so crumbly & dry. It tasted like my grandma's that she always used to make. I thought this was an excellent recipe for homemade cornbread. I served it for breakfast with Strawberry Syrup (Bon Appetit, June 2007) and the recipe was requested by all. It turned out of the pan beautifully after about 15 minutes and was so easy to make. I made this for a friend with a gluten allergy, and it was a huge success! I used 1/2 cup of buttermilk and milk and plain fat free yogurt for the rest, and used maple syrup instead of sugar. There are much better recipes for relatively unsweetened cornbread! The essentials for success are to use a cast iron frying pan, to brown the butter, to use very fine cornmeal (as you would for polenta) and to make sure your oven is fully pre-heated before you start. I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out very well - moist but not too much butter. Even my boyfriend, that doesn't care for cornbread, said it was good. Definitely not sweet, like most of us Southerners prefer. It was perfect! I used white cornmeal and it wasn't too dry, not too moist. This is the best cornbread that I have ever had, hands down. I used cornflour and added some frozen corn for texture. Quick, easy, and delicious! I'm gluten free and so excited to find a corn bread this good (tender and fluffy) with no wheat flour in it. I did manage to burn my arm pulling it out of the oven. I loved the texture, flavor and simplicity of this bread. What I got was this moist, fluffy, delicious, bread that had a bit of crunch to it and has won me over:) Next time, I'm adding either green chilies, jalapenos, or maybe caraway seeds to the mix. And being at elevation I baked a few min longer in a greased glass 8x8 dish. Used 1/2 C polenta and 1 1/4C cornmeal instead of 1 1/2C cornmeal. So here's what I did: Used 1 3/4 coconut milk and 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon juice, instead of the buttermilk. I modified it like I do most recipes simply b/c I don't eat dairy much anymore, but a little butter doesn't bother me. I was looking for a flour free corn bread recipe and couldn't find my prev one, so.I tried this one. I added some minced jalapeno, but with or without the result would be the same: moist and tasty corn-y, not cloying. Nor is there a huge amount of butter, though I suppose it's generous. It's excellent cornbread-not too sweet (which is why I chose it from various online possibilities), and as a bonus, if I ever make it for my Dad (who is a celiac patient), it's GLUTEN-FREE: no flour. I made this to complement some chili I bought at my local Central Market. Life is complicated cornbread doesn’t have to be. Reheat in the same cast-iron skillet you used to bake, or just pop a slice in your toaster oven. Store at room temperature tightly wrapped or in an airtight container. This recipe for homemade cornbread can be baked up to two days in advance. There’s no all-purpose flour in the dry ingredients here, so depending on the type of cornmeal you use, this quick bread is even gluten-free without any fuss. Sweet cornbread stans can increase the amount up to ¼ cup, sprinkle the top with brown sugar before baking, or slather on honey butter at the table those who prefer to keep things savory might stir in a handful of chopped jalapeños and shredded cheddar cheese or top with a dollop of sour cream. of sugar in the batter, this recipe is incredibly versatile. At any given moment you’re 30 minutes away from your very own piping hot, perfectly moist cornbread with a tender crumb.īecause there’s only 1 Tbsp. But Jennings is at least partly responsible for the 2004 gap: Men’s earnings were especially high then, mostly because Jennings had 11 $50,000-plus games that year.Dating offers: One - sort of. In 2004, women earned only 58 cents on the male dollar. The gap has narrowed quite a bit in the past decade. In recent years the “Jeopardy” gap has been as small as a few cents, and in 2012 women and men achieved complete pay parity. This gender pay gap - measured in terms of average winnings per game - is slightly smaller than the gap in the general labor force, where women earn 84 cents on the male dollar, according to Pew Research Center estimates. The statistics also show that, this year, female “Jeopardy” champions are winning 89 cents on the dollar compared to men. It will be interesting to see whether the strong showing by women in the first half of this season will continue. But overall the numbers are trending upward. Last year, for instance, women won only 23 percent of the time. The yearly percentages do jump around quite a bit. Seven out of nine of the show’s writers are male, as are four of the five researchers. There’s also been some speculation that “Jeopardy” questions are biased toward men. Only 40 percent of contestants are female, according to a recent Slate analysis. The historical disparity between male and female win frequencies can partially be explained by the fact that women are less likely to appear on “Jeopardy” in general. Aside from Collins, contestants Sandie Baker and Sarah McNitt have also gone on five-plus game winning streaks this season. But so far this year, women are winning more than 50 percent of the time. In 2004, 14 percent of “Jeopardy” winners were female. The conclusion: Women are winning more often than they used to. After tossing out records with names showing a gender certainty of less than 85 percent, and records that the scraper couldn’t parse due to irregularities on the j-archive site, I ended up with a sample of a little over 1,800 “Jeopardy” matches. I ran the names through genderize.io to determine the likely gender of each winner. I scraped the site for the winners and winnings of each show for the past 10 years. How have women fared compared with men in the game’s history overall? Is there a gender pay gap in “Jeopardy” winnings similar to the pay gap seen in the workforce? For answers I turned to, a “Jeopardy” fan site that maintains records of nearly every episode that’s aired in the Alex Trebek era of the show. Only three players have won more: Arthur Chu, who had 11 wins this year Dave Madden, who won 19 games in 2005 and, of course, Ken Jennings, the current record holder with his 74-game win streak in 2004. “Jeopardy” contestant Julia Collins is making news this week for being the most successful woman in the game’s history, currently at nine wins and counting.
